Phil and I went to Newcastle last night to see one of Phil's favourite bands, Shinedown, a heavy-ish rock band from America. We met up with Phil's son Carl in the pub first and had a few sherbets first and stayed too long in spite of Phil nagging us to get into the venue early, Carl didn't think they'd be on til 9 so we hung about in the pub. Consequently the band had just started when we got inside and it was too packed to get a good view. The venue is quite small, not one of my fave places, and the sound system there is pretty rubbish. The band were really good, couldn't get any decent shots, but used the hipstamatic whilst waiting for Carl to come out and got a few 'after the gig' shots.

These are wonderful - really captures the post-gig, gritty street atmosphere!
