My little Yoyo has not been well really. For the past few days he’s been only picking at his food, a bit here, a bit there, and spending all day asleep under the bushes in the front garden, and all evening asleep on the sofa.
Now he has had episodes like this in the past on and off, and after a couple of days he bounces back and all is well and he eats like a horse, but it’s going on longer this time, so am getting a little worried. We think it’s down to fur balls- he can’t eat cos his tummy is full of fur (he’s very long haired and washes himself a lot!) so he eats grass, hoiks the furball up and then can eat again.
Herky does the same (though Herky NEVER doesn’t eat up! He just throws up straight away after and the furball comes with!)
Sorry for the graphic images I’m painting here. Anyway the point is, Yoyo is just not himself—although the little sod will still eat his bedtime treats! Perhaps he’s just getting old ☹ I’ve felt his tummy and there isn’t a lump or anything to worry me that way, and his teeth seem OK, but I guess a trip to the (very expensive!) Vet is on the cards now. It’s so difficult to tell what’s going on when they are not well, they can’t tell you anything, and are prone to suffer in silence, which is crap- at least a dog will whimper when it’s not well so you’re in with a chance of getting to things before too late. And this morning I thought all was getting better as Yoyo ate all his breakfast- even though it was in 2 sittings, but he hasn’t eaten even a bit of his dinner. Gonna go and give him some serious telly tickles now – he likes to watch TV with us at night and get loads of strokey rations,- and fingers crossed this passes quickly.
